At the same time Foster escapes and Henderson gives orders for him to be shot on sight. First broadcast on Sat 1st May 1971 by ITV in the ATV region. This is the only UFO episode not to feature Moonbase or any of the other SHADO hardware, but despite that it’s a generally well-thought-of episode.

This week, unimpressed by the writings of crime journalist Sandy Williams, Regan assumes that it is a man, and is pleasantly surprised when Sandy turns out to be an attractive and intelligent young woman. There is even romance in the air between them. However, she may or may not be implicated in criminal goings-on and needs to be followed. First broadcast on Thu 20th Feb 1975 by ITV. This week, lazy repairman Des Kinvig’s life changes when he imagines meeting a glamorous alien from Mercury, who looks a lot like his latest customer Miss Griffin. First broadcast on Fri 4th Sept 1981 by ITV. This got mixed reviews, especially in retrospect. But if nothing else, should be a fascinating novelty – a Nigel Kneale sitcom!!

Sixteen episodes were made, all but two in black-and-white. Reeder is a mild-mannered civil servant at the Department of Public Prosecutions with an extraordinary gift for solving complex crimes, due to being able to think exactly like a criminal.

This week, twelve people – all with a private income – have disappeared from London over a period of twelve months. Assigned to investigate the latest disappearance, Mr Reeder finds himself racing against time to stop further people vanishing. First broadcast on Wed 11th June 1969 by ITV. I remember this being a particularly good one, but I could be wrong…

00:04 – Thriller S02E05 – Alternate USA titles – When “Thriller” was exported to the USA, the Americans completely redid the opening and closing titles in a rather trippy manner, sometimes inserting their own newly-shot teasers (using actors shot from a distance or from the neck down!). Here are the ones for this episode.

00:12UFO S01E10(P12) – Court MartialRepeated from earlier for our late-night viewers.
