Throwback-to-Back-to-Back (Day 3)

We kick things off today with a special Micro Live-esque edition of Pebble Mill at One! The concluding part of the Scene episode Lies follows, then Zoe Ball brings us Playdays on CBBC. Our soap sagas draw on – Marylin is miserable, Reg Hollis is a tosser and Jimmy Corkhill is hopped up on so much nose candy he thinks he’s orbiting the moon. What else is new? Tune in to find out!

Into the evening, jacket potato enthusiast Brian Harvey presents Top of the Pops, prepare to be Woganned in Auntie’s New Bloomers, the man himself Peter Cook appears on Room 101 and – it had to be done – an episode of 999 featuring some hapless trapped cavers. We switch over to ITV for News at Ten, then Roger Cook hassles Wolf from Gladiators about his alleged steroid usage. We wrap things up with our Open University foray into physics.

This is the one where desperate Jimmy robs a Building Society branch with a Cornish pasty in a paper bag. They give him a helicopter to escape and he unnerves the pilot so much he crashes into Ron Dicko restocking the Moby.
