19:10 – UFO S01E08(P15) – E.S.P. – a 1970 British science fiction television series about the covert efforts of an international defence organisation (under the auspices of the United Nations) to prevent an alien invasion of Earth. It was created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson with Reg Hill, and produced by the Andersons and Lew Grade’s Century 21 for Grade’s ITC Entertainment company.
This week, John Croxley is a man with Extra Sensory Perception, which enables him to read the minds of other people, although he regards it as a curse and has sought medical aid. One day, following a dog-fight with a UFO craft, the UFO crashes into and destroys Croxley’s house, at the same time causing the death of Croxley’s wife. Holding Foster responsible for his bereavement, Croxley uses his powers to read Foster’s mind and find out all about SHADO, which he intends to destroy. First broadcast on Wed 21st Oct 1971 at 8pm by ITV in the ATV region. Featuring John Stratton (Captain Potter in the TV version of Quatermass and the Pit; Shockeye in DW: The Two Doctors).

Her promiscuous lifestyle made her the talk of the town but the gossip has escalated. First broadcast on Sun 24th May 1981. Featuring, amongst others, Warren “Dalziel” Clarke, and Cheryl Hall (DW: Carnival of Monsters; Citizen Smith).
20:25 – The Sweeney S01E06 – Night Out – Jack Regan and George Carter are hard-edged detectives in the Flying Squad of London’s Metropolitan Police. They pursue villains by methods which are underhanded and often illegal, frequently violent and – more often than not – successful. This week, when the Superintendent finds out that there is a bank robbery in progress on a Saturday afternoon, he assigns Regan to visit an old girlfriend whose apartment is adjacent. First broadcast on Thu 6th Feb 1975 by ITV. Featuring, amongst others, Mitzi Rogers, T.P. McKenna and Christopher Beeny.
21:14 – Keep It In The Family S05E06 – A Touch of the Orient – This week, in the last-ever episode (and not before time), Dudley, Jacqui and Susan become involved with the North Hampstead Operatic Society’s production of the Gilbert and Sullivan opera The Mikado. Duncan is working on a rival production of Oklahoma. and is looking for a new leading lady. First broadcast on Wed 19th Oct 1983 by ITV. Featuring Alan Ford. This looks fecking grim… the pair of clowns who took over the writing of this after the original creator dropped out during S3 seem to have been big fans of homophobia and sinophobia, and tonight it looks as if they’re going out with a bang!
21:38 – The Mind of Mr. J.G. Reeder S01E06 – The Poetical Policeman – a British television series which was originally broadcast on ITV in two series from 1969 to 1971. It is based on a series of novels and short stories written by Edgar Wallace featuring the character of J.G. Reeder, who had appeared in several film adaptations in the late 1930s. Sixteen episodes were made, all but two in black-and-white. Reeder is a mild-mannered civil servant at the Department of Public Prosecutions with an extraordinary gift for solving complex crimes, due to being able to think exactly like a criminal.
This week, when young PC Burnett discovers a bank robbery in progress and arrests Green, the bank manager, on what he believes to be overwhelming incriminating evidence, it is left to Mr. Reeder to clear the man’s name. First broadcast on Wed 28th May 1969 by ITV. Featuring Paul Shelley (DW: Four to Doomsday), and the first of four appearances by Windsor Davies.
22:31 – Eurotrash S11E04 – The legendary late-night magazine show starring Antoine de Caunes, exploring unusual and bizarre topics from Europe and around the world. This week, we have Banana Man, Ale De Basseville, Look at Lolo: Lolo Plays Ping Pong, Flatulence Expert, Estelle Hallyday, Woodstock Erotica, Air Guitar Champion, George le Bonsai. 22:55 – Thriller S02E03 – Kiss Me and Die (USA Title: The Savage Curse) – a British television anthology series, made by ATV for the ITV network and originally broadcast in the UK from 1973 to 1976. As the title suggests, each story is a thriller of some variety, from tales of the supernatural to down-to-earth whodunits. The series was created by Brian Clemens (of The Avengers, The Professionals, and many others fame), who also scripted the majority of the episodes and story-lined every installment.
This week, when his brother vanishes without a trace, American Robert Stone goes to his last known location: a remote English village. Robert’s investigation leads him to the mansion of Jonathan Lanceford, a man obsessed with the Gothic works of Edgar Allan Poe, and his beautiful and enigmatic niece Dominie. First broadcast on Sat 9th Feb 1974 by ITV. Starring Jenny Agutter, George Chakiris, Anton Diffring (Fahrenheit 451, Where Eagles Dare, DW: Silver Nemesis), and featuring Russell “Lonely” Hunter & Stephen “not-shit Travis” Greif.
