aloha folks – about 11:00 i’m going to be kicking off the streams over the next couple of weeks – this is because the episodes are slightly over an hour and it saves any potential over-run.

why are we planning for the next few weeks? well let me tell you a little story about 1993 and the WWF.

Jerry Lawler turned up playing an absolute bastard in WWF in 1993, tearing apart the worldwide TV stars both verbally and physically. that’s what everyone around the world saw. Lawler, the King of Memphis was part of the organisation running the USWA who had a working relationship with the WWF to work as a feeder company. on the locally broadcast USWA programming, Lawler could do no wrong. he was more popular than hogan at the height of hulkamania.

While WWF showed Lawler and a various members of the USWA alumni as the heels against the stars the world knew and loved, Memphis got to see the other side of the coin. Vince McMahon, various WWF stars, mid-carders and enhancement talent all starred in what fate would end up turning into a dry run for the “im the owner and im a complete bastard” version of Vince McMahon that we all got to see after 1997.

so for the next few weeks i’ll be playing out as much of 1993 USWA TV as i can find, in order for a couple of hours on a sunday lunchtime. i’ve only seen clips of this myself, so we’re watching the bizarro-world New Generation Era WWF as seen in Memphis in as complete a form as i can muster up together.
