Flouncer’s Prog Predicament (12.11.20)

This Thursday’s show will focus on prog and Canterbury stuff. We’ll be starting off the show at 4pm with Michelangelo Antonioni’s counter-culture clanger Zabriskie Point (1970), featuring music by Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead and John Fahey. Following an hour of appropriate musical performances, there will be a ST:TNG double bill. At 8.30, we move on to a 2015 documentary exploring the Canterbury scene, featuring interviews with members of various key bands. The night concludes with Barbet Schroeder’s La Vallée (1972). Pink Floyd provided the soundtrack (released as Obscured By Clouds). Watch out for an appearance by Miquette Giraudy, later a member of Gong and System 7, as Monique.
