hogTV – Thursday Throng [04/02/21]

PACKED TO THE SNOUT!

hogTV. This Thursday. 6PM. IT’S ON.

Edit: In light of recent events, at around 7:10 PM I’ll be showing my Captain Tommy tribute video that I made earlier, followed by a minute’s silence.

For tonight’s film I’ll be showing The American Friend (1977), directed by Wim Wenders, an absolute master of German cinema (Paris, Texas / Alice in the Cities / Wings of Desire), second only to my namesake, Werner Herz-hog90.
It stars the one and only führer, Mr Bruno Ganz, to whom I give a friendly salute in kraut heaven.
It also co-stars everyone’s favourite American, Dennis Hopper, filmed during the early stages of his post-‘drugs-hell’ recovery phase.
The film features one of the best edited, high-tension ‘chase’ sequences ever recorded and about a quarter of it is in English, so that’s nice.

Besides the film, there’ll be the usual silly idents, interstitials & oddities that I’ve made, left-field American comedy, animation, unearthed goodies from the early days of Hollywoodland, squid-fishing in the Asia-Pacific, and some extremely stupid (but enjoyable) bullshit from the internet.
