18:59 – Grand Sumo Primetime: July basho recap – Aonishiki’s rise back to Ozeki following demotion due to injury hampering his performance. September basho is live from sunday morning, so coverage here will start next tuesday i’m free to stream

19:23 – Battlebots Pro League 2026 ep 1 & 2: a new competition for 2026, 6 groups of 4 then a knockout stage.

20:06 – The Morton Downey Jr Show – “UFO’s”: before springer there was the loudmouth, and some absolutely hilarious bullshit talked on american tv. this has one of the greatest guests segments I’ve ever witnessed

20:52 – weird as fuck movie: The Bed Sitting Room – i only found out this existed recently so i don’t know that much about it, but it appears to follow the premise that after a “nuclear misunderstanding” the survivors in britain begin trying to rebbuild while a very peculiar trauma response kicks in. the camera vaguely points at captain peacock from are you being served, Arthur Lowe and contemporaries in this 1969 Armageddon based comedy that apparently had something to so with spike milligan and might have been a stage production at some time.

22:23 – Prisoner: Cell Block H – Episode 440 & 441: the return of the double priz – pretty much where we left off. Olive green uniforms, bent coppers trying to off screws, bad coping mechanisms and mayhem in wentworth. incidentally, did you ever notice that if you speed up the melody of “on the inside”, it would make a good mariachi tune? it doesn’t exist as far as im aware, but the “on the inside the sun still shines” played on a trumpet or whatever bugle type bollocks they use in those racket making sessions would definitely fit the bill.

23:52 – Anne Clark – Live At Rockpalast 1998 (Full Concert): for you late stayer uppers, its not a concert of hers i’ve shown before, but its a belter.

due to what should be the final change in working hours for the forseeable, a monthly (possibly fortnightly) Tuesday is feasible. So, i’ll jostling some of them digital ones and zeros vaguely in the direction of your screens

The sumo coverage will resume once the september basho starts, a review of the Nagoya basho will run as part of this broadcast. There may also be some sort of wrestling related tomfoolery on the go

a little bit of vintage ragebait in the form of some select episodes of the Morton Downey Jr show – which while not as crude as the later talk shows of the time is quite frankly bizarre to look back on and shows how little progression attitudes in the US have really made over the past 40 years

some short films, possibly a series or two, maybe even a resumption of prisoner cell block H – more clarity of the schedule over the next week.

one thing that is for certain is that I’ll be kicking off this new run with a “main event” so to speak that fuses two of my greatest loves – depictions of a post apocalyptic world, and the “stiff upper lip” british comedy films from a certain era. The Bed Sitting Room will be our film on this first flight.
