Join us from 6pm for a show of going throw my record collection playing games and playing some random VHS. Internet connection permitting. If it does crap out I do have some back up files to launch from the server.

Jupiter moon 76-80 (yes, i know we showed 76 last week, but a lot of folk had gone by then and it keeps it easier to remember where we’re up to)

17:00   Mix – GQ (1997)
A nice mix plucked off the shelf – this is a summery laid-back ride through some of the big beat and grooves being played in the bars, pubs and clubs in August 1997. This mix was put together at that time for GQ magazine.

18:15   Room 101 – Tony Slattery (1992)
Classic episode of the superior Radio 5 incarnation of Room 101 – the antidote to Desert Island Discs. Tony Slattery expertly makes the case against his least favourite records, places and TV programmes.

18:45   Beat The Teacher (1986)
Children’s BBC swept into the broom cupboard era with this noughts-and-crosses quiz, pitching kids against teachers. Wouldn’t you prefer a nice game of chess?

19:05   Absolutely (1992)
The finest sketch comedy made by Channel 4. This one’s from its final series, branded by many as the poorest series – but which actually contains most of the tightest and funniest individual sketches, proving that comedy fans are never to be trusted.

19:45   The Pixar Shorts: A Short History (2007)
A concise but fascinating inside look at the development of the Pixar company’s animation team,…

16:30pm Prince – Sign ‘O’ Times (1987)

Sign o’ the Times (styled Sign “☮” the Times) is a 1987 American concert film written and directed by Prince.[3]

In 1987, to capitalize on his growing success in Europe, Prince toured extensively to promote the album of the same name and sales increased accordingly. However, the United States remained resistant to his latest album, and sales began to drop; it was at this point that Prince decided to film a live concert promoting the new material, for eventual distribution to theaters in America.

It featured the band that accompanied Prince on his 1987 Sign o’ the Times Tour: dancer Cat Glover, keyboardist Boni Boyer, bassist Levi Seacer Jr., guitarist Miko Weaver, drummer Sheila E., keyboardist Doctor Fink, and the horn section of Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss; Wally Safford and Greg Brooks (of The Bodyguards from the Revolution era) reprised their roles as dancers,…

OTHTV – Mid Season Failings

STOP PRESS – an addition to the schedule should knock everyting back into place. as designated Geordie CaBTV streamer, and someone who just found out about this, i feel it is my duty to screen the last ever episode of Byker Grove from 2006. im saying nothing more about it now, but there’s a good reason i’m showing it.

so… 1990 has reached the end of its first series and the Play for tomorrow series is done. that goves us a 1 hour hole in the schedule and a chance to have an edward woodward-less night.

With it being brought up recently, and the current government being a bunch of complete bastards, i thought it might be a good time to show a movie that brings us back to a time when the government were still a bunch of complete bastards, but it was a) fictional and b) funny, so we’re going to kick of with The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer

  • 1700 – Radio: OTH from 26/06/2020
  • 1900 – Byker Grove – Last Ever Episode
  • 1930 – Movie: The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer
  • 2100 – Revolver
  • 2130 – Housos
  • 2200 – Urban Gothic
  • 2230 – Puppets Who Kill
  • 2300 – Jupter Moon – episodes 71-75

Now these timings are robably going to be out by quite a bit,…
