Sidebottom Restream

This evening there’s a stream going on to commemorate ten years since the death of Chris Sievey – there will be rare and previously unseen Sidebottom footage that might be of interest to the CaB TV community, so I thought a watchalong might be in order. It starts at 7pm and goes on until about 11.30pm.

Thursday Throwback (18.06.20)

This week’s retro show will focus on 1987 and that year’s great storm (watch out for Michael Fish’s infamous weather forecast). I’ve dropped Fresh Prince because it was getting a bit annoying. The main feature for tonight is a Play For Today from 1977 – Willie Russel’s Our Day Out tells the story of a group of kids from a run down Liverpool school going on a trip to Conwy Castle. We finish off the evening with some gratuitous Noelry in Telly Addicts, inane pedantry in Points of View, and we join Gordon Burns as he puts the contestants through their paces in The Krypton Factor.

Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That! (alternate title: Awesome; I… Shot That!) is a 2006 concert film of the Beastie Boys directed by Adam Yauch under the name Nathaniel Hörnblowér.[1] It was created by giving camcorders to 50 audience members of a sold out concert at Madison Square Garden on October 9, 2004. • 1900 – play for tomorrow – the nuclear family
  • 2000 – Revolver
  • 2030 – 1990
  • 2130 (your choice – based on responses last week either housos or short poppies, we had 1 vote for each)
  • 2200 – urban gothic (Eater)
  • 2230 – puppets who kill
  • 2300 – Jupiter Moon episodes 61-65

as always sometimes due to commercial break/continuity being removed, we seem to run anywhere up to 25 minutes early by the end of the schedule, so please expext programmes to start roughly 5 minutes earlier than listed per preceeding program

this isn’t really a part of CaBTV- just something i’m using my channel for before i watch along with everyone else.

midday – OTH on Nova Radio (from 12th June) – i’ll eventually be doing a live uncut and exclusive version of these, but for now its friday’s programme from Nova – with the News from somewhere anywhere and nowhere, the reverse turntable and the feature hour which this week is the stripped spotlight – goth rock/post punk and associated ephemera

2pm – Can You Turn It Up A Bit? from Eddie Carter – a specially curated mix of music from the man behind “attention please” on Nova, formerly of the “All the time i was listening to my own wall of sound” music blog, “across the pond” on Flytrap Radio and a plethora of other things. these are raw music, no chat, very ecclectic and different every time.

4pm – switch over to Phil and enjoy the evening
