BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL – EARLY START!

Due to technical difficulties, TISWAS and Python’s Behind the Scenes have had to be skipped. They will both be shown on Thursday’s Fill-In Stream instead.

14:20 – Sheepy’s opening music.

14:24TISWAS Volume 2 – More of the Best BitsExcerpts from the famously anarchic children’s television show that originally aired on Saturday mornings from 5 January 1974 to 3 April 1982, and was produced for the ITV network by ATV. Originally a sell-through VHS released in 1992, then rereleased on DVD in 2005… with clearly no further attempt to clean it up for DVD, as even the opening quality disclaimer seems to have been ripped from the original VHS!

Worzel’s Washing Day (Series 1, Episode 1 11/24)

Worzel Gummidge is a British television fantasy series, produced by Southern Television for ITV, based on the Worzel Gummidge books by English author Barbara Euphan Todd.[1] The programme starred Jon Pertwee as the titular scarecrow and Una Stubbs as Aunt Sally. It ran for four series in the UK from 1979 to 1981.[2] On a countdown of the greatest British children’s programmes, this series was number 50 in the 50 Greatest Kids TV Shows on Channel 5 on 8 November 2013. Channel 4 reprised the show in 1987 as Worzel Gummidge Down Under, which was set in New Zealand.

Flouncebucket: Slight Return

The Funbucket returns for a special one-off Saturday show. We start off at midday with a marathon of police procedural action! At 4pm there will be a radio show accompanied by a train journey, switching over to music videos at 5.30 (requests welcome). At six we kick into some classic Funbucket material: some Pete and Pete shorts that predate the original series, Rex the Runt, the one Terry-era Minder that I didn’t show (a Christmas clip show) and we pick up The Brittas Empire where I left it off. We then move on to a Saturday night throwback segment featuring a classic episode of Casualty, followed by a film double bill. Flight of the Navigator tells the story of a young boy who is abducted by aliens and is returned to his family eight years later without having aged. Then Robinson finally makes a triumphant return to CaB TV in the sequel to Patrick Keiller’s London: Robinson in Space! We finish off with some PIFs, railway ephemera and a Shipping Forecast.
