Hardware (1990)

Richard Stanley directs this independent British science-fiction horror film, which is in equal parts inspired by The Terminator and the works of 2000AD. In fact, so inspired by the works of 2000AD was it, that Fleetway Comics successfully sued the filmmakers for ripping off their short story ‘SHOK!’ (which had appeared in a Judge Dredd annual in 1981). Still, this is a film worth seeing for fans of schlock cinema; one which oozes atmosphere from its sweaty pores.
