17:34 – Brass – S01E04 – More Granada-made northern-drama-satirising comedy, starring Timothy West. This week, Lady Patience tells Bradley that his daughter is carrying on with a miner. Agnes tells George that the person Isobel is carrying on with is their son Jack. Bradley agrees to talk to the strikers and offers them a silent hooter – the strike is ended. George tests Bradley’s anti-tank boot which explodes, and Bradley manages a pit disaster, in which he knows Jack is involved. First broadcast on Mon 14th March 1983 by ITV.

18:00 – Sky – S01E04 – What Dread Hand – More HTV children’s science fantasy weirdness, written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. This week, finding Sky unconscious, Arby, Jane and their friend Roy rush him to hospital, where his life is put in further danger by Goodchild. However, he may be closer to finding the location of the Juganet. First broadcast on Mon 28th April 1975 by ITV.

18:25The Tomorrow People S01E04 The Slaves of Jedekiah (Part 4/5) – The classic 1970s ITV children’s series about a group of teens with paranormal abilities, who use their special gifts to battle evil. This week, John, Carol and Stephen recover to find Jedikiah has left, taking Kenny with him. They follow them back to the mansion in order to perform a rescue only to discover Jedikiah has set a trap for them. First broadcast Mon 28th May 1973 by ITV.

18:48 – Star Trek (The Original Series) – S01E02 – Charlie X This week, Captain Kirk must learn the limits to the power of a 17-year-old boy with the psychic ability to create anything and destroy anyone. First broadcast in the USA by NBC on Thu 15th Sept 1966.

19:38 – …And Mother Makes Three – S01E04 – Get Mobile – More gentle middle-class Thames sitcom, starring Wendy Craig as the newly-widowed Sally Harrison, doing her best to bring up her two boisterous sons, Simon and Peter. This week, Peter turns to Pythagoras when the family try their best to Spot the Ball, Sally asks Mr. Campbell to lend her a car so she can have driving lessons, and Auntie’s unimpressed when she picks up an old banger from a vicar.  First broadcast Tue 18th May 1971 by ITV.

20:04 – Van der Valk – S01E04 – Elected Silence – More Thames-made Amsterdam-based crime drama, starring Barry Foster. When the daughter of a controversial right-wing journalist disappears, Van der Valk has trouble keeping his personal feelings for the man private, despite warnings from his boss. The ransom demand leaves the detective perplexed and the father struggling with his past. First broadcast on Wed 4th Oct 1972 by ITV.

20:55Sheepy’s Unwatched FILM Project #3: Lost in Translation (2003) – a romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola. Bill Murray stars as Bob Harris, a fading American movie star who is having a midlife crisis when he travels to Tokyo to promote Suntory whisky. There, he befriends another estranged American named Charlotte, a young woman and recent college graduate played by Scarlett Johansson. Giovanni Ribisi and Anna Faris also feature. The film explores themes of alienation and disconnection against a backdrop of cultural displacement in Japan. Further analysis by critics and scholars has focused on the film’s defiance of mainstream narrative conventions and its atypical depiction of romance.
