*plus movie
(plus extras to help celebrate this our monarch’s platinum jubilee week)
17:40. The Flashing Blade ((1967). Steamy Historical, with all the erotica taken out so it could be shown on kids TV.. only the title gives away the sauciness of the source material.
18:05. From the Top -Growing Up and Out (1986). Actually the first episode of the second series.. coincidentally the only episode I ever watched. Bill Oddie has given up his job as a bank manager to enrol in the only theatre school that will have him. Watch a grown man in a school uniform muck about with young teens.
18:30. Comrade Dad (1986). Set in an alternate Britain where that there Corbyn got to be PM. George Cole is a husband and father committed to the doctrines of his new communist overlords.
19:05. Hardwicke House (1987). Anarchic goings on at a large comprehensive school. The public and press response was so negative that only the first two episodes were broadcast (as a double length premier). Shall we see what all the fuss was about?
20:05. Oh No! It’s Selwyn Froggit (1974). Set in the fictional town of Scarsdale, Bill Maynard is Selwyn Froggitt, a council labourer, hapless handyman, working men’s club secretary and all-round fuck up.
20:25. Secret Army (1977). It’s ‘Allo ‘Allo! the funny version.
21:20 The Last Train (1999). A post apocalypse drama. Altogether now – “must. reach. Ark”
That ends the first episode of things segment. Tonight’s film is…
22:15 Kung Fu Hustle (2004). Chinese action-comedy. A murderous axe gang, a slum filled with unlikely heroes, and an aspiring hoodlum’s journey to finding his true self.
Show concludes at approximately midnight.
