We start of with a couple of music vids to warm up, then American PSAs.. in Holiday from Rules four children learn the importance of DOING WHAT YOU’RE TOLD. A valuable lesson, well worth the physical and psychological trauma inflicted upon them.
Two more Sheppey related shorts follow. Walking the Plank has…uh… problematic elements, but Red Sands has some lovely drone footage of one of the Maunsell forts out in the Thames estuary.
Wings of Honneamise is one of my favourite feature length Anime. This version is as close to the VHS cut (which is how I first came across the film) as I could get it. Without going into detail I’ve seen arguments for and against removing the two scenes I did, and they both have merit. If you like the film on this viewing and are interested I can provide link to a review which discusses the scenes that I removed.
