In a relaxed and conversational style, famed writer of uncanny and fantastical fiction Algernon Blackwood (1869-1951) retells his story of the old lady and the pockmarked railway porter. The author’s delivery is thoughtful, as if he is recounting the incident for the first time, and was filmed in 1949 for a series of short films sharing the title A Strange Experience.

Blacula is a 1972 American blaxploitation horror film directed by William Crain. It stars William Marshall in the title role about an 18th-century African prince named Mamuwalde, who is turned into a vampire (and later locked in a coffin) by Count Dracula in the Count’s castle in Transylvania in the year 1780 after Dracula refuses to help Mamuwalde suppress the slave trade.

19:58 – Blood Shack (1971)

Blood Shack (also known as The Chooper and Curse of the Evil Spirit) is a 1971 American horror film written and directed by Ray Dennis Steckler (under the pseudonym Wolfgang Schmidt), and starring Steckler’s then-wife Carolyn Brandt alongside Ron Haydock. A young woman inherits a ranch that is supposedly haunted by a murderous beast called “The Chooper.”

The Eye, also known as Seeing Ghosts, is a 2002 Hong Kong-Singaporean horror film directed by the Pang brothers. Blind since the age of five, 20-year-old Hong Kong classical violinist Wong Kar Mun undergoes an eye cornea transplant after receiving a pair of new eyes from a donor. Initially, she is glad to have her sight restored but becomes troubled when she starts seeing mysterious figures that seem to foretell gruesome deaths.

Censor is a 2021 British psychological horror film directed by Prano Bailey-Bond. It was produced from a screenplay by Bailey-Bond and Anthony Fletcher. The film stars Niamh Algar, Nicholas Burns, Vincent Franklin, Sophia La Porta, Adrian Schiller and Michael Smiley. After viewing a strangely familiar video nasty, Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister’s disappearance, embarking on a quest that dissolves the line between fiction and reality.
