Quick ‘n’ dirty listing:

17:00 – Library mix
\ Groovy tunes from the RKM music libary.

17:10 – Beat This! A Hip Hop History
\ BBC Arena documentary from 1984 depicting hip hop culture in New York. Evocative and with very little narration, it lets the footage do the talking.

18:05 – Bad Influence!
\ Video game magazine show ballbags. Andy Crane probably does something unsavoury with an RS-232 connector.

18:25 – Odd One Out
\ More wig-based word game whammery from 1983.

18:55 – Chain Reaction
\ Clive Anderson interviews John Lloyd in the entertaining radio show. Topics such as Blackadder, Douglas Adams and Not The Nine O’Clock News are discussed.

19:25 – It’ll Be Alright Late At Night
\ Denis Norden introduces more quality goofs in 1985, this time with slightly more risqué/mature content (which lent itself to being shown in a later timeslot,…

in its place the second of four surviving episodes of “nearly departed” the shite sitcom starring Eric Idle as a ghost who along with his also deceased missus causes havoc for the family that moved into their house after their death. only the kid from the family can see them.

PSI Factor appears to only be one long story tonight. it’ll still probably be somewhat disappointing or unfulfilling though.

Battle in the Box has some better contestants on it this week. it actually settles into itself as a format.

18:12 – The Tyrant King S01E04 – The Turnover – A six-part children’s serial drama made by ABC Weekend TV and screened by Thames Television in 1968. It was dramatised from the book of the same name by Aylmer Hall, adapted for television by Trevor “Ace of Wands” Preston, and produced and directed by Mike “Get Carter” Hodges. It was notable for its use of a progressive music soundtrack, including music from The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Cream, and in particular, The Nice (whose song “The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack”, from the album of the same name, was the title track), and Pink Floyd (whose song “Saucerful of Secrets”, also from the album of the same name :-), was plundered extensively, including for the end credits).

A strange phone call and a wallet found in an old dark house lead three teenagers and their dog to follow a mysterious character across London. First broadcast on Thu 24th Oct 1968 by ITV.

With Candace “Nicholas and Alexandra” Glendenning,…
