It’s the CaB TV broadcast nobody asked for: a return to the heady days of 2003 with the two Matrix sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, finishing off with the acclaimed animated anthology film The Animatrix. To break things up a bit these will be interspersed with a gaming stream, a radio show and a Saturday night retro block.

Edit: In light of recent events, at around 7:10 PM I’ll be showing my Captain Tommy tribute video that I made earlier, followed by a minute’s silence.

For tonight’s film I’ll be showing The American Friend (1977), directed by Wim Wenders, an absolute master of German cinema (Paris, Texas / Alice in the Cities / Wings of Desire), second only to my namesake, Werner Herz-hog90.
It stars the one and only führer, Mr Bruno Ganz, to whom I give a friendly salute in kraut heaven.
It also co-stars everyone’s favourite American, Dennis Hopper, filmed during the early stages of his post-‘drugs-hell’ recovery phase.
The film features one of the best edited, high-tension ‘chase’ sequences ever recorded and about a quarter of it is in English, so that’s nice.

Besides the film, there’ll be the usual silly idents, interstitials & oddities that I’ve made, left-field American comedy, animation, unearthed goodies from the early days of Hollywoodland, squid-fishing in the Asia-Pacific,…
