The final pieces of our new weekly lineup fall into place this week, as we welcome the ITV music show “Revolver” to OTHTV for the next 8 weeks. originally broadcast in 1978 on ITV and featuring Peter Cook as a host of sorts, there are some gems and some turkeys in amonst this that make it excellent viewing.

We also see the return of Urban Gothic as Series 2 kicks off with “Sandman” – where a “touch the truck” competition takes a dark turn.

Our final addition brings an offering from our Canadian friends – Puppets who Kill starts a 13 week run.

Of course Jupiter Moon continues to finish, and this weeks block should take us up to the end of the first third – as episodes 44-49 (and possibly 50) round out the stream

Wattstax was a benefit concert organized by Stax Records to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the 1965 riots in the African-American community of Watts, Los Angeles.[2][3] The concert took place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on August 20, 1972. The concert’s performers included all of Stax’s prominent artists at the time. The genres of the songs performed included soul, gospel, R&B, blues, funk, and jazz. Months after the festival, Stax released a double LP of the concert’s highlights titled Wattstax: The Living Word. The concert was filmed by David L. Wolper‘s film crew and was made into the 1973 film titled, Wattstax. The film was directed by Mel Stuart and nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Documentary Film in 1974.

This week’s films both involve Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder. Pryor wrote some of the material for the Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles (1974) – he was supposed to play one of the main roles alongside Wilder, but was prevented from doing so for insurance reasons, being replaced by Cleavon Little. They do actually appear together in the second film, Stir Crazy (1980).

In the TV section, we have the last episode of Vic Reeves’ Big Night Out. This will be replaced the following week by The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.
