There’s a couple of new additions to the schedule this week…

First up is the reality show Face Off (not to be confused with the daft Travolta/Cage flick) , which is acting as something of a replacement for my stream’s previous reality show; Jim Henson’s Creature Workshop Challenge. In Face Off, each week a group of budding prosthetic makeup artists compete against each other to create prosthese; the type commonly featured in science fiction and horror films. Their efforts are then judged by a panel of industry experts… and Kevin Smith.

The other new addition to the lineup this week is the Canadian produced cult science fiction television show Lexx (as featured on British telly during the ’90s, on late night Channel 5). The show revolves around our protagonists Stan, Zev and Kai, who accidentally steal The Lexx; the most powerful weapon of destruction in two universes! After successfully fleeing from the Cluster (the main planet of the League of the 20,000 Planets – at least one of those planets is sure to be host to a species of giant squid),…

This week’s music show starts at the usual time, but will probably consist of performance footage – I will be doing an additional music show on Saturday during my birthday special. Alexei Sayle’s Stuff makes its debut this week, replacing the recently departed Black Books.

My films of 1993 season draws to a close this week with the fourth and final instalment. Tune in on Friday to find out if Cop and a Half, directed by Henry Winkler and starring Burt Reynolds, can take the crown as the worst film I have ever shown.

“A haemorrhoid-and-a-half to anyone who sits all the way through this abjectly painful comedy… Does about as much for Reynolds’ career as Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot did for Sylvester Stallone’s.” Leonard Maitlin

“The worst film of 1993.” Gene Siskel

As some sort of consolation for sitting through this AIDS-tier guff, I will then show one of the better films of the year – Groundhog Day, directed by Harold Ramis and starring Bill Murray.
