It stars Christopher Strauli as Norman, a rather naive middle-class man who is admitted to a hospital ward and finds that he is sharing it with a working-class layabout called Figgis (James Bolam) and an upper-class hypochondriac called Archie (Peter Bowles). All three of them cause headaches for the hospital staff, led by Richard Wilson with Derrick Branche. This week, when Figgis becomes obsessed with horoscopes in magazines and believes their predictions the others are sceptical – until Norman continually beats Glover at cards. However, Figgis becomes so preoccupied with astrological predictions he is convinced he is going to die – forcing Dr Thorpe to beat him at his own game to cure him of his obsession. First broadcast on Tue 20th May 1980 by ITV. Repeated from Sheepy’s Show #38 – Sat 2023/02/11;…

something a little different for you this week on Sunday Afternoon Slam…
Running Man The Musical (as presented by Fight Circus & Full Metal Dojo) – the Fights are 100% real, as is the utter insanity of the mastermind behind them.
trigger warning – Sponsors for this show include a legal cannabis dispensary in Thailand, so there are adverts for weed kicing about in there.
there’s a Hockey Fight (a boxing mach where they’ve lubed the ring floor up to act like an ice rink)
a Leithwei match (the art of 9 limbs – headbutts legal etc)
an Indian Leg Wrestling match
an “only kicks” fight
Siamese Boxing (the two people under one shirt vs another two people under one shirt thing)
“barbie vs oppenheimer”
and MMAsymetrical – a two on one fight between the star of the show, and the incumbant duo.
all this and so much more including performances from the junkyard theatre, a musical performance from “Dynamo” and various Running Man themed stuff happening throughout
then TNT’s 1st anniversary show with clips of a whole bunch of weird stuff that happened in the first year of the show’s broadcast in 1984-1985
lots of piper,…
