Sepulchre (21.05.23)

The fifth edition of the Sepulchre brings with it a new format. I’m trialling an earlier start to see if it’s viable, in order to pack more Sunday goodness in without finishing too late for those who have an early morning ahead of them. Preshow music starts at 2.30, followed at 3pm by our usual fun and games with Fort Boyard and Takeshi’s Castle. Then a new show joins the lineup: the medical drama St. Elsewhere, made by the same production company as Hill Street Blues. As usual Cagney and Lacey follows, then we have another new show: the stylish neo-noir Miami Vice – in following weeks this will lead into Gerry Anderson’s sci-fi/procedural amalgam Space Precinct, but this week the opening two parter will be shown in its entirety. This week’s film is one for all the little hulkamaniacs out there – Hulk Hogan stars as the titular Mr. Nanny (1993). A former professional wrestler is taken on as a bodyguard for a couple of bothersome little shits, but he’s about to find out that the childcare industry is no easy gimmick.…

OTH Weekly Zeppelin

cabtv

this thursday is the second week of the new season in the main schedule, here’s what’s on tap.

in the early zone, the lads and lasses of Byker Grove are still up to whatever the hell they’re up to, we spend one last half hour in the company of Mr Hell, and bid farewell to the dulcet tones of Bob Monkhouse. Chucklevision however has a bloody long way to go as we roll straight into series 4. this time some tit has hired them as plumbers. in Under the Mountain, it looks like we might get some more shape shifting shenannigans with the kiwis, slime monsters and glowing stone nuts that the old guy likes to get the kids to hold. Beavis and Butthead are right in their prime at the moment, series 5 started last week truely the golden age. sadly it’s the last “alright now” though, and i’ve not thought of anything to replace that with. the radio thing might expand temporarily while im working on that.

the radio bit – songlines – two episodes of a series looking at a certain song. they’re in my folder in alphabetical order, i’ve decided to play them in reverse order because… well,…

All three of them cause headaches for the hospital staff, led by Richard Wilson with Derrick Branche. This week, a nymphomaniac female patient falls for Dr Thorpe’s bedside matter, and caught in a compromising position, he turns to the men’s ward occupants for help, but will they come to the aid of a friend in need? so then. its back…

  • Rollerjam is the successor to rollergames. bearing in mind that the model of rollergames was Roller Derby in the style of Pro-Wrestling, this later reboot is reflective of the change in Pro-Wrestling around the time, we’re out of the wild and wacky 80s and into the mid 90s. basically its a bit more grungy.
  • following chucking the question out yesterday, we’re taking a break from the MJB stuff temporarily. the remaining ones are one series long each, so i’ve inserted Limetown. the series is 10 x approx half hour episodes, which leads me to the the next bullet point…
  • prisoner is going to start a little earlier this week. this is due to the action/reality zone being one long rollerjam and limetown being shorter than the MJB drama serials. the rest of rollerjam from what i can see is split into 45 minute matches. so something new will be added next week
  • next week is the last mr hell show, after that there’ll be something vaguely in the vein of comedy in there to replace it.
  • schedule amended – i forgot to add in the second to last “alright now” when i put up the image

    So Much Hot Air

Aloha folks, it just occurred to me that now that i’ve finished Lotus Eaters on thursdays, i’m at a crossroads. there are two more series by the same director lined up and ready to go – however there are also two series of Limetown (which i’ve just managed to locate after a drunken acquisition night) should we alternate, or head through the Michael J Bird stuff in full before moving on to Limetown? let me know in the comments below – cheers
